Ventricular tachycardia in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy
Kim Jin-Seok

Abstract
Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is the most common cardiomyopathy characterized by left or biventricular dilatation and systolic dysfunction. Ventricular tachycardia (VT) may be an important cause of sudden death and morbidity in patients with DCM. Although advances in both drug and device therapy have led to an improvement in overall survival of patients with DCM, symptomatic VT and the risk of sudden death are still issues that must be considered. Recent advances in catheter ablation technolgy have led to an improved success rate, and they have facilitated the use of catheter ablation in VT related to DCM.
